Flowers & Straw Bags

Life lately has been a little hectic with the little titan, and so I haven't been able to blog in a while.  I also thought my laptop had gone bazerk, until my husband touched it with his magic hands and automatically got it to start working again. I can't stand electronics sometimes, although I probably make them more complicated then they actually are. Well good thing he got it working again because I have missed working on this little hobby of mine.

We went to the most charming little nursery off highway 105 in Conroe, TX this past weekend. It is right past Vernon's Kuntry Katfish restaurant, which if you haven't been to Vernon's it is a must visit for lunch one weekend. Their fried catfish is delicious and I love the blackberry cobbler for desert. We have been wanting to check out the flower nursery for some time now, and finally had the chance to stop and pick up some flowers. They have a great selection and the plants are beautiful, I only hope I can keep what we picked up looking as nice as they do now.

I have been so excited to finally be able to pull out my straw bag for the spring season, which was given to me by my mom a couple years ago. I absolutely love it because the straw design makes me feel like I'm going on a picnic everyday! It is also a backpack which I love because it helps me keep my hands free for the little titan. The inside is large enough for me to keep all my necessities including some wipes and a set of clean underpants for Atlas if needed. We are having the most difficult time with potty training that I still have to pack a little extra for the little titan. We'll get there soon. My straw bag is so old that I don't even know what brand it is or where it came from, but I found one very similar here at DSW. It is unfortunately sold out, so I have picked out some of my other favorite straw bags currently available for the season which you can find pictures and links to at the end of this post.

I have been wearing my new striped midi skirt from Old Navy everywhere recently. It is so comfortable and neutral enough to wear on the weekend with sandals or during the work week with heels. It also comes in this floral print and is currently on sale for under $20.00! A great deal and a skirt that can be worn so many ways. I pair mine with light pull over sweaters or with my blue chambray shirt tied at my waist.

Atlas is wearing his new Ralph Lauren cotton canvas shorts in vacation blue which are so sweet on him. I love that they are longer and can be rolled up or down, he looks like a little beach bum. He's also wearing his white striped shirt which is currently on sale for under $13.00!

Here are my favorite straw bags for the Spring season, and any one of these would be a perfect mother's day gift!  I love the hello summer (#1) one for the weekend or for the beach, and the fossil one (#2) in leather trim is just lovely for the office this spring and summer season. I also love the embellished clutch (#5) for a summer date night or a wedding weekend getaway, and the neutral striped tote (#3) is perfect for the Saturday farmer's market. If you are looking for a budget buy I love the striped tote from Forever 21 (#4) or the anchor embellished tote (#6) from Target. Perfect for the lake or beach this summer. I love them all! Which straw bag would you pick? Share your top picks in our comments section below, we would love to hear from you!
